Diane was born in Atlanta, Georgia and has over three hundred years of Southern heritage in her family genes. Her grandfather was, indeed, a well-known southern Baptist preacher who fought in the Civil War. As to the other largely fictional characters in the book, Diane believes that old adage that "it is better to ask for forgiveness than permission". She has taken great poetic and deliberate license to re-create the life and times of her central characters.
Writing is a new interest for Diane who spends her time between Destin, Florida and western North Carolina - when not traveling the rest of the world. Her vision and leadership was the significant force behind the revival of the historic Florida Chautauqua Assembly. This event occurs each January in the small north Florida town of DeFuniak Springs.
